Permissions requested
| Scope | Why it’s needed |

openid, profile, email | Identify your account and display your name and photo |
w_member_social | Publish posts on your behalf |
Sociylo does not request access to your connections, messages, or any data beyond what’s needed to post.
Publishing posts
LinkedIn posts are published to your personal profile. Company Page posting is not currently supported.
After connecting, select LinkedIn as a platform when composing a post. Text posts publish immediately. Image posts upload the media to LinkedIn first, then attach it to the post.
Formatting tips for LinkedIn:
- Optimal length: 150–300 words for engagement
- Use line breaks between paragraphs — LinkedIn renders them as visual spacing
- Hashtags perform best at the end of the post (3–5 is plenty)
- The first 2–3 lines show before “See more” — make them count
Token expiration
LinkedIn OAuth tokens expire after 60 days. When a token expires, the account shows a warning indicator in Sociylo. Reconnect by clicking Reconnect on the Accounts tab.
Troubleshooting
“Failed to publish” error — Your token may have expired. Go to Accounts and reconnect.
Post published but no engagement — LinkedIn’s algorithm favours posts with early interactions. Try publishing when your audience is active — typically Tuesday to Thursday, 8–10 am or 12–1 pm.
